Teaching Vocabulary With Flipped Classroom!

Hey everyone! Today, I want to show you my flipped classroom video that I created with my friend Merve Mızrak.

What is Flipped Classroom after all?

A flipped classroom is a type of blended learning where students are introduced to content at home and practice working through it at school.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of it?

Firstly, let's talk about some of its advantages. A flipped classroom promotes student-centered environment, and it is easily accessible from everywhere. Flipped classroom videos are usually short, so it enables students of digital era, whose attention spans are pretty short to learn.

Speaking of its disadvantages, it adds extra workload on teachers, and these videos have to rely on trust, which means that students should be watching them but we cannot always make sure that they do.

In our video, we aimed to teach some occupations to our students. We paid attention to repetition both in teaching and revision parts. We used animated characters and images because we thought that it would be the best option for students of this age. Thus, we used the platform ''Animaker'' for our video. For some arrangements, I used Sony Vegas Pro after creating the video through Animaker. At first, it was a little difficult to figure out how the website worked. However, as we proceeded, we found out that it was really easy and fun to use despite the initial difficulties. When it comes to work share, we both recorded some parts and edited the video together. All in all, it was an enjoyable process. You can watch the video here.

Well, that's it for today from me. See you in another post!
